The pastor in question was a fairly new pastor, however, he was not
young in the Lord. He came out of a congregation that was well
established and his former pastor is a man who preaches to UPC
congregations all over the US and at conferences. He had the
opportunity for plenty of adequate teaching.
The man did not wear glasses.
The person was not in the habit of complaining about messages or
about pastors. The person was in the habit of intensely studying the
Word of God. The person repeatedly approached this pastor (in
private) about the incorrectly quoted scriptures and with questions
concerning doctrines built upon them. Complaining never entered
the picture. This person was not whining about some standard or
about some teaching that they didn't want to follow. This person
was concerned with a pastor who either unknowingly misquoted
scripture or, God forbid, purposely sought to twist the scriptures
to his own end.
