It boils down to having a super fully functional list during Mon-Fri.
But on the weekends, depending on me and Bro Richards schedule, we may-
or may not check and approve postings to higher-fire so that ya'll can
receive a distribution....

NOTES ABOUT THE MODERATORS:

1.) I wrote to the moderators and waited a few hours, but received no
    response yet.  What's up?

        More than likely they're not in.  Both moderators endeavor to
        answer email within a half-day, but that's not always possible.

        Their schedule is such that they generally check email during the
        weekday from about 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you send them email on
        Friday night, don't expect a response until sometime Monday.

        And please, don't send more than one email unless you've waited
        more than three or four days and haven't received a response.  The
        moderators are human and have been known to lose e-mail now and
        again.

Which pretty much explains *why* there's sometimes no delivery of postings
from H-F during the weekend.  We just weren't around during the day and near
a computer where we could easily *approve* or *discard* the messages that
have come in from friday afternoon/evening through sunday.

Sometimes we need a break.  In my case, I've been back in Illinois with my
family (since I work in Indiana now and my family is still back in Illinois 
for another 6 - 8 weeks) and I wanted to spend time with them and not
necessarily do this busy work of H-F).

Essentially, it's when us owner/moderators can have a break since we basically
babysit the list pretty much throughout the week (Mon-Fri) anyway.

Don't worry, now that I've checked email, I'll be approving a whole bunch of
postings for all of the group to see shortly.  It's been really busy, just 
tonight, I've driven back from Illinois, assembled and dissasembled a futon 
and a desk for my efficiency apartment, put together the computer from it's
previously boxed up state, and managed to travel about 160 down the road,
purchase and hang up a shower curtain, call friends out here with my new 
phone number when I got in before assembling anything..... and now I'm checking
email....

O.k. so don't fret... it'll be coming soon.
