Question on who John saw on the throne

I was replying to somone from another Pentecostal discussion group and I was
defending my belief as a Oneness Pentecostal and she responded that in
Revelation John saw one on the throne but that it was not Jesus.  Jesus came
later as the Lamb and took the scroll out of the hand of the one who sat on
the throne.  I t appears in reading the 4th and 5th chapters that John did see
two manifestations of God.  Can anyone explain this?  It does seem like a good
arguamen for trintarians to argue about the Trinity and I don't know how to
reply?
