Regarding Children who kill...

Recently, there has been a disturbing trend among children and teenagers to
act out against authority with deadly force. I don't think I need to
rehash the details.
I have a few thoughts:
First of all, the words of Jesus
Matthew 26:52
"Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all
they that take the sword shall perish with the sword."
Proverbs 13:24
"He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth
him betimes."
Proverbs 19:18
"Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his
crying."
Proverbs 22:15
"Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction
will drive it far from him."
*note: the rod of "correction" is not the same thing as the rod of "anger".
Proverbs 23:13-14
"Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the
rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver
his soul from hell."
*note: "beat" = "nakah"--to strike (light, as in "clap", "slap" or
"strike", or severe, as in slay or murder. I think the context here
implies "strike").
Proverbs 29:15, 17
"The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child *left to himself* bringeth
his mother to shame. Correct thy son, and he shall give the rest; yea, he
shall give delight unto thy soul."
Hebrews 12:11
"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:
nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness
unto them which are exercised thereby."
IMHO....you take a generation or two of "hands off" Dr. Spock parenting,
and child mass murderers is a natural result.
Just random thoughts, ignore at will :)

time comes, and not give in to popular culture.)
