I have often wondered why you men in the Apostolic faith condemn a woman
for wearing a necklace when you wear a neck tie? a necklace is to a
woman what a necktie is to a man., something you want to make you look
better dressed.!! How much of the doctrine is based on more tradition
than truth? I interviewed one of the writers for the Apostolic
literature and he admitted that his personal opinion was that a lot of
the rules and regulations were traditional. now I am not talking about
the baptism - Godhead etc. I am talking about a lot of the outward dress
rules for women.. modesty is truth , but I feel that a lot of
requirements is because of personal convictions more than word truth. I
read in the bible that traditions make the word of God of none effect,
that shows how powerful tradition is. yet we are expected to obey
these whims that have been handed down . If we walk in the word then
that should be sufficient to please everyone!! to me this is a thing
that has caused a lot of people to stand back and question ... what is
more important, truth or tradition.
