> there are an awful lot of men out in the world that really dress sharp
> so come on you men , get out as soon as you can because you do not want
> to be branded as worldly now do you?

me: I think God wants us to put on our very best for him.
A man can look "sharp" on a Wal-Mart budget just as well
as an Armani' budget. What brands us as "Wordly"
IMHO is the attitude we have when we are wearing the
clothes, not the clothes themselves if they are modest
and cover what should be covered.

>...my husband went to a place to preach and every man
> there was without a necktie but my husband, those
> people for what ever reason believed it was wrong to
>wear a necktie.

me again: How many men do you know that actually
ENJOY wearing a necktie? The necktie is the first
thing that comes off when my hubby leaves the church
house. He doesn't wear it for adornment, but because
he is a Trustee of the church and our Pastor requires
a tie if you are going to be on the platform.
It is a "church" standard and has nothing to do
with his salvation. He is being obedient to our Pastor,
which IS scriptural.

When I came to the Lord, I had many items of
beautiful diamond/gold jewelry. I immediately felt
conviction over the earrings and necklaces, but continued
to hang unto my diamond watch. It had been a Christmas
gift from my husband and had cost about $1,000. I wore it for
about two years after receiving the Holy Ghost. As I grew
from a new baby and became stronger in the Lord,
my need for the adornment and attractions of the World
became less and less. This watch was soon replaced with a
$39 Timex. NOT because I couldn't afford better, but because
a watch should be "keeping" time, not for adornment.
I had many beautiful necklaces, earrings, etc.
but have no desire today
for the flash of diamonds and gold around my neck and in
my ears.

The only precious jewels I long for these days are the ones
which will be in my crown in Glory.
