I grew up as an avid Bible student in a fundamental trinitarian church, but
I always had difficulty reconciling our teaching of the godhead with many
Bible passages-indeed, with the whole concept of God. After earnestly
seeking God and studying the Bible, the Lord helped me to stumble upon a
United Pentecostal Church. I was shocked to see that they were practicing
many of the very teachings that I had been discovering on my own. After
receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost, I really begin to pray about the
Godhead issue.

A revelation is not a new doctrine- it is the gaining of understanding of a
doctrine that already exists. As I begin to study, the revelation came to
me so vividly. In simple terms, the God of the Old Testament, which was
Spirit, took on a body of flesh in the New Testament. As such, the
Son(flesh) was not eternal-He was begotten with both a beginning and ending.
But in the Spirit, He was eternal. In the flesh, He died. In the Spirit,
He raised Himself from the dead (John 2:19). In the flesh he was tempted
and suffered, in the Spirit He had all power. In the flesh He prayed, in the
Spirit He heard that same prayer.

For this reason, Jesus is the Father(in the Spirit). He is the Son (in the
flesh), and He is the Holy Ghost (for He said in John 14 'I will not leave
you confortless...I will come to you!)

As God, He fills the universe but is "headquartered" in the body of flesh.
That is why when Jesus was baptized, a voice could speak from Heaven at the
same time. This is why we will only see Jesus sitting on the throne when we
get to Heaven.

There is only one God. His name is Jesus Christ. When you grasp the simple
concept of Oneness, all Scriptures concerning the godhead fit together very
clearly! There may be different ways of explaining the Oneness doctrine, but
there is only one truth.

When I was young I was sure of everything; in a few years, having been
mistaken a thousand times, I was not half so sure of most things as I was
before; at present, I am hardly sure of anything but what God has revealed
to me.
