This is the first E-mail that I have responded too. My question is why are
issues like this issues at all? I dont argue the need to be holy, but a
ring on the finger of broken and poured out saint is a non-issue, just as
the unadorned fingers of a whited sepulcher are a non-issue. I wonder if I
lost my sight how would I know who is a follower of Christ, would I feel the
fingers and then pass judgement?? I apologize for the tone of this E-mail
and if I have offended, however when I focus on Christ and His example I am
kept busy remembering to forgive and love and press on. Read Luke 18:9-14
and see if it doesnt sound like looking for rings. I am not down on anyone,
Im too occupied keeping me lined up with the Word.

>I had a discussion recently with a few saints from another
>UPCI church nearby to the one I attend. We got on the topic of standards
>and that led to the question to me, "does your pastor allow
>the wearing of wedding rings?" I said yes..and then backed it
>up with the thought that in todays society, you have to have
>something there to show that you are married. There reply was
>if you let the wedding ring become ok, then you could justify a
>mothers ring, class ring, etc.
>I am curious to see what other UPCI members and their churches
>believe and then why they believe that?
>My personal belief is that the wedding ring is not wrong as
>long as it does not bring attention to yourself.
