I agree. Lemme tell you a story.

My now-husband and I went browsing for wedding rings one day. I picked
out this extremely glittery thing and tried it on. He said, "Do you like
it?" Of course, I'm in shock ('cause he's proposing in a way!) and say,
"Yes!"

Well, he bought the ring. So, after 7 months of engagement (we had 6
months to return the ring for a full refund), I decided it was too much.
We brought it back for something less showy. You can imagine the
salespeople's surprise.

I now have a simple diamond that advertises my "taken" status. It is not
a *lighthouse* kind of beacon, but rather a *bicycle headlight* type.

My pastor said it's ok to wear a wedding ring. I have not yet, after
three years in wedded blitz (bliss??) been temped to wear any other type
of ring.

***Just as the Holy Ghost is a mark of ownership on the Bride of Christ,
so is a wedding ring. It should be obvious you are married. That way,
would-be suitors will stay away. They don't want to mess with the
Bridegroom!***
