? on rings

That ring was not a piece of jewlry; it was the authority of the name
of the father!  It was a signet ring, used in those days to bind and
seal contracts.  It gave the son the authority we now associate with a
signature.  It gave him the authority to act in his father's name.  It
represents the name of Jesus to us today, not a finger ornament.
