Amen to that, Brother!
I myself wear only a plain gold band because the Lord convicted me that that was
what I should do. I discussed it with my husband, and he agreed that it was
OK with him that I would no longer wear my diamond engagement ring. However
neither my former pastor nor my current pastor preach against them. I only
mentioned that to say that the Lord has also shown me that I'm not God's
policeman (or woman). At one time I was very legalist, and I still must fight
against it, but now I see that love covers a multitude of sins. I believe that
holiness is important, but I let God and the pastor handle the other saints.
Its hard enough for me to keep myself in line!
When sinners look at me, I want them to see Jesus, not just my dress code. I
don't want to be guilty of straining at gnats and swallowing camels. If we are
concerned about another saints dress, we should talk to God about it and keep
our mouths shut to the other saints.
I'm sure glad the Lord had mercy on me and continues to have mercy on me in my
foolishness.
