I think the emotional content of music does not need to always come
from suffering.  There is a time for celebration and great rejoicing
too.  Sometimes this is best accomplished with an up-beat tempo and
powerfully driving music.  The words to such a song need not be deeply
intellectual: "I've got it!  I've got it!" is a good example.

Of course, there is a time for deeply emotional gratitude and love
also.
