? on rings

Well I guess I can give my 2 cents on rings:
When I started attending church at a local assembly while in the Air
Force I was still wearing a class ring. One Sunday a little girl of
about five years of age, on the pew in front of me, turned around and
poked her mom on the shoulder and pointed and said, "Mommy, look he is
wearing a ring."
I didn't think a lot about it that day but over the next couple of weeks
it began to bother me. One day I decided to take it off and lo and
behold it didn't bother me anymore. So I figured if it bothered me when
it was on, and it didn't bother me when it was off, then why wear it? I
feel the same about a wedding band. I don't think anyone is on the way
to the Lake of Fire due to a wedding band, but if it bugs me to wear it,
and it doesn't bug me not to wear it, then it just makes sense not to.
As to needing it to indicate I, or my wife, is married; In today's world
you are sometimes a greater target when you are wearing a ring for
advances as there are many who like the idea of someone who doesn't want
a commitment but just a fling.
