Som'n Interesting about Abraham

Here's something you might find interesting.

How many people do you come across who consider some sort of mental belief
in God is enough to get them saved? But I think that the 'belief' the Bible
had in mind when it talked about belief was far different than this.

Romans 4:11-12 talks about Abraham as the father of them that believe. He is
the first great man of faith in the Bible. Yet of what did his faith
comprise? In Romans 4:17 and Hebrews 11:19 we read of his miraculous faith
he had. He believed in a miracle working God, that could raise pople from
the dead and heal them! There were some that blessed him, and some that
cursed him (Genesis 12:3). It is the same today. We can either have the same
faith as Abraham, the father of faith, or we can curse the faith of Abraham.
We can belive in a God who heals, gives prophecy, baptising us with the Holy
Spirit and giving us tongues - or we can reject that. We can accept our GOD
as a powerful, miracle working GOD, or we can accept a weak, powerless 'god'.

The central Christian message is a message of miracle-working faith:
Paul said in 1Cor2:4 that "my speech and my preaching [was] not with
enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of
power [duatmis]: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,
but in the power [dutamis] of God"

The word 'power' there is the Greek word 'dutamis', meaning "God's power,
miracle working power" . Paul says that that kind of faith and preaching is
neccessary.

The Bible clearly warns us that there would be many people preaching the
same message that Jan believes in these last days. Paul warned that, in the
last days, there would be those that would have "a form of godliness, but
denying the power [Gk. 'dutamis'] thereof: from such turn away." (2Ti3:5).
