Greetings Saints in Jesus name!

I just received this nyuk, nyuk that I've been telling for years.
Below is a little different than the way I told it. But, it is
nonetheless still a real groaner in the realm of humor ... enjoy!

There once was a village called Tridville in the land of Tridia. The
residents were quiet little people called "Trids." Every day the
giants who lived on the hill overlooking Tridville would come down
the hill and kick the Trids. This was a normal everyday event if you
were a Trid.

One day a Jewish rabbi passed through Tridville. He witnessed the
spectacle of the giants coming down the hill and kicking the Trids.
He was appalled. After the giants walked back up the hill and went
home the rabbi questioned the Trids about the days events. He asked
them why they just let the giants kick them. The Trids replied that
it had been a regular part of daily Trid life as long as they could
remember and that they were used to it.

The rabbi tried in vain to try to get the helpless little Trids to
do something about their plight but they were not interested. He
asked them if they minded if he went up and talked to the giants for
them. They said that it really wasn't necessary but if he wanted to,
they didn't mind.

The rabbi walked up the hill and spoke to the giants. He told them
that kicking the Trids wasn't right and asked them to stop. The
giants refused. The rabbi finally told the giants that he would do
whatever it took to get them to stop kicking the Trids. He even
suggested that if they felt the need to kick someone they could kick
him instead. The giants responded with one voice, "Silly rabbi,
kicks are for Trids."

(If you have never seen the "Trix" cereal commercials, the above story
just made no sense to you at all. Sorry.)

The version I knew of the above take-off on the Trix commercial had
the rabbi edifying the Trids to the point where they were willing
to do whatever he asked them to do. He later asked them to sneak
out past the giants late at night when the giants were sleeping.
They did so successfully when the very last Trid accidentally bumped
a giant. All the giants awoke and proceeded to kick the Trids back
into their vally. When the rabbi saw that all of th Trids were kicked
back in and he wasn't (as their leader) he inquired of the giants:

"Why, as the leader of the Trids, did you not kick me back in the valley?"

To which they replied: "Silly rabbi, kicks are for Trids."
