Ephesians obedience

No one may remember the original note that I sent a couple weeks
ago, about how we demonstrate our obedience to Pauls instruction to husbands
and wives in Eph 5. I may be WAY outta line for writing this but no one
answered the note. Not even a hint of a reply. There were notes about rocks
from Mars but no feedback on how to show your wife that you love here like
Christ loves the church. There were notes about christian rock music and
hair and beards but nothing about a wifes actions that reflect the honor
that is mentioned in comparison to Christ.
I have wrestled with what and how to write this note because I know
that I am no mans judge and everyones sincere efforts to serve Christ are a
precious sacrifice to God. I also know that if I was a young christian or a
saint newly restored and the awsome weight of 'performance' was laid upon me
by reading through the discourses posted, I might be discouraged to quit.
I have another question. Has anyone been deeply hurt by a saint of
God? Someone that probably should have known better? Has the hurt been of
the nature that was prophesied of " These are the wounds that I received in
the house of my friends". If so, how did you survive? How did you keep your
grip on the hem of His garment? How did you let the ressurection power of
Christ raise you up? Was it your adherence to standards that cleansed your
wound and bound it up. I think that if we survive at all it is grace and
grace alone. I am reminded of a scene that the Lord described where many
came and claimed an intimate relationship because of performance ( have we
not.... in your name). Why is it that we find that these scriptures so aptly
portray every other denominal christian but not us? We have made a case of
saying that the epistles were written to born again believers ( Acts 2:38
variety and I say amen ), but if the Pauline epistles were our mail, then it
stands to reason that so is the third chapter of Revelation, and are
counselled to by gold and clothes and ointment. Read 3:17 of Revelation and
see if it doesnt bow down our hearts in utter disgust for our condition. I
am done now. If you have read this far then accept my thanks and I warmly
welcome your response to the questions asked above, but if you want only to
challenge me, dont. Speak about me or this note in a seperate Email, but
please dont reply, I am persuaded in my relationship with Jesus Christ and I
rejoice in His fruit in my life.
