I couldn't help replying to your request for making your wife feel loved..
I am a wife that is loved very deeply.. I always knew that but In my camp
meeting recently in Rhode Island Bro. Cole was telling a story that really
moved me.. It was a story from a country where it was the custom for a
bride groom to give cattle to the father for the bride's hand in
marriage.. It was customary for the groom to barter for it... In this
specific case the groom was telling the father that he would pay 8 cows for
his daughter... the father was only going to ask 4 cows and most of the
suiters only paid about 3... When word got out among the men that this
idiot over paid for his wife.. they laughed and scoffed at him saying that
the woman wasn't even worth one...... Visiting him one day a man walked
into a nicely kept home and a gorgeous woman came into the room, kissed the
man of the house and walked out... the visitor was impressed with such a
beautiful woman... but wanted to meet the much talked about bride who was
not worth one cow... That was my wife... the man said... see, a woman needs
to feel self worth. when she goes down to talk with all the other women at
the river and they talk about what their husbands paid for them... They
will brag that their husbands paid 4 cows for them... well, MY wife can say
that her husband paid 8 cows for her! My husband found me and I wasn't
even in church.. He gave me Bible Studies and decipled me. Then he wanted
to go out with me and I said I would never go out with someone shorter than
I am. He said ok, how about a date! :) He chased me till I finally
caught him. I don't think i am worth all that effort but he showed the
world that HE thought that I was... Jesus loved us so much that he robed
himself in flesh and died for us so that we might know that he owns the
cattle on a thousand hill tops. That is how to make a wife feel loved.
