Compare this: you're insulted by someone at work; You're hurt by an unsaved family member; You're hurt by a
brother/sister in the Lord;....*which one hurts the most?* It will always hurt more when people with whom you
have a tight bond hurt you.

God recently gave me the following in order to speak at a ladies' meeting in my church:

How to handle yourself (read: "flesh") when someone hurts you

1.	Realize that any insults to you are actually fallen on Jesus.
	(Romans 15:3)

2.	Humble yourself and take your hurt to Jesus. Let Him kiss your boo-boo.
	(I Peter 5:5-7)

3.	Examine your present state of mind. Are you susceptible to being hurt?
	(Philippians 4:8)

4.	Examine the motives behind what was said or done.
Is there a bigger picture behind what was said or done of which you are not aware?

5.	Realize that people make mistakes.
(Ephesians 4:11-13; emphasize "... for the *perfecting* of the saints")

6.	Forgive and forget.

Hope this helps.
