Public Schools (Goals 2000, and such.)

The value of art I will not address, but the real value of PE is not
exercise or health, it is team participation and leadership.  First
you learn to follow, then you learn to lead.  Leadership is not really
taught in schools except on the athletic field, and even then, only
good athletes get to be leaders.  This is rarely pointed out by the
teachers -- they tout the value of exercise and health, but they are
really selecting and training leaders, and the "head and sholders
above the rest" guys, like Saul, are the ones chosen.

We need leadership training for more than athletics, and favoring
athletes to be leaders does not hack it all the time in the business
world, or in the church.  Most of the less athletic of us, like
myself, had to struggle to catch up later on in life in order to learn
how to lead.

Too many people fall for new age lines in leadership classes because
they do not have the foundation of good Bible teaching to build on.
This is one of the most powerful tools of the devil in America today.
