Good words here.

I used to be an expert in child discipline.  Now that I have a kid of
my own I find out I didn't know what I'm talking about :-)

My one-year-old is not permitted to play in the cat's food and water
bowls.  Lately, whenever Psalms (the cat) goes to eat or drink, Ian
runs up yelling "No! No! No!" then swats the cat.

He's learning to assert his authority over the household pets pretty
quickly. :-)
