Sending music over the 'Net (Was: In a musical rut)

My brother-in-law is giving me a simple hand-held scanner soon, so I could scan in lead sheets (*sort of* lead 
sheets, anyway... lyrics and chords), then hook up my Korg and record a .wav file of it, then send the whole 
mess to you, and.... I'm getting exited! I could even warble out the lyrics when I play it!

Anybody got any suggestions on this? Will this *actually* work? Are there copyright concerns here?
