I did the same thing, only worse: I flunked out of Duke my freshman
year in 1970!  It was really all the computer's fault: I would compute
all night when the turnaround time was faster, and then sleep all day.
I learned my profession that year, but I got no credit at all for it.
Of course, drugs in vast excess and parties, etc. didn't help the
situation too much either, but that's all under the blood now.
