Old Test. quotations where great for their time and place for ALL
teaching.
They had nothing else going for them. In their case centuries lapsed
before
the teachers such as Paul had, ( under the fig tree ) came along.
NOW, we still need to teach at home, but also our children need a formal
education, also.
SO, what kind of teaching do use?
BIBLE based education. REMEMBER, all colleges were started to further the
education of ministers,EVEN Harvard University was started for that
reason.
NOW, when you walk through Harvard Yard it is anything but Christian.
Home schooling is great, but you have several problems when you home
school.
1.The child is limited to the parents knowledge, which is OK when
teaching
Christian values, but MAYBE not so good when teaching English , math,
and science.
Granted MAYBE some parents are good enough to teach these things, of
course not all are teachers
2.Parents are with their children 24 hours a day. It doesn't give parents
or children a break. They need a break. Usually it is the wife who
teaches
and she has all she can do well, keeping house and tending to the
needs
of the whole family. Much less spend 6 or more hours with the children
answering and teaching. This creates problems in the home.
3.Home schooling in some areas is better than public schools.
4.Bible based education in a more formal setting is better than home
schooling
in the same curriculum. WHY? Because there is interaction for the
children
and if children out of the world come, then they are a witness to
these children.
SO, what is the answer? Everyone must pray and decide what is best
for their children. JUST REMEMBER, you are messing with a child's mind
and you had better know what YOU are doing.
Once you start it takes a few years to know if you are RIGHT and you
had better be !!!!!
