FASTING

My thought on fasting were refreshed in my mind as
Brian mentioned how North America seldom mentions fasting.
Fasting as I know it, is one of the best ways to bring your
spirir and body to subjection of Christ.(I think the word
subjection is what I am looking for)
The problem with we in North America is that we think we
*have* to have food!  Ok..now im confusing myself.
WHat I am trying to say is we find food too important
to go without it when it is right in front of us.
Places such as Ethiopia seem to me probably fast easier
because food supply in that country or others is in smaller
supply.  That is one reason why I think fasting is soo much
more important to us in North America.  What a powerful statement
we are making to God when we go without food.  All we have to do
to get it is open up the fridge or go to the local fast food.
BUt anways, thats my opinion.
