Bro Bassett you wrote,

And I agree. In the Book of Acts, until Saul terrorized the church they
were content to stay in Jerusalem.

Since this is a different dispensation, Jesus ruled using the law. The law
is made for the lawless. Deut 28:15, 25-26 "But it shall come to pass, if
thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to
do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this
day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: The
Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thnie enemies: thou shalt go
out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt
be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. And thy carcase shall be
meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no
man shall fray them away."

Yes, we are to be in defense of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul said he
was set for the defense of the gospel. Paul did this by both teaching
and doing, just as Jesus did.

I agree and forgive me if my post sounded like I was trying to kick against
God. As the word says "if this be of man let it alone it will come to
nothing, but if it is God leave them alone lest you find you are fighting
against God" [my paraphrase].
