The idea was that you could never grasp the *WHOLE* truth by reading
the scriptures alone.  You need to hear from God, and the best way to
get him to talk to you is to seek an audience before him.  You do this
with prayer.

The beauty of mathematics is that it gives us the tools to conquer the
infinite.  We do not need to enumerate all the possibilities if we can
calssify them and then work with the class instead of the instances.
But in the things of God, only God can show us the "class" view -- the
higher level view -- the *ONENESS* view.  

I was showing by analogy why we cannot expect to understand the
infinite ramifications of God's finite body of text called His word,
without understanding something that encompasses that word, namely God
himself.

Now, when we appeal for something that encompasses God, we still get
God!
