I thought that everyone would like to see this from Sis. Doris. If we
only could see that great cloud of witnesses who refused to yeild to the
pressure of compromise, what a glorious testimony we would have when we
stand before the Lord. I'm sending this to the group with her
permission.

Dear Bro. Sullivan,

I have to hold up the banner. I'm sourrounded by people that do not believe 
truth. If you live in a country of 82 million and roughly 200 souls are 
saved and in a city of 300,000 with roughly 10 souls baptized in Jesus name 
and filled with the Holy Ghost...what else can you do? The bible says buy 
the truth and sell it not, hold fast to that what you believe, Paul 
admonishes us to do just that and to proof all things and hold on to the 
good things....no, this truth is by far too precious to me and should I be 
the only one left in this city that believes that wonderful apostolic truth, 
I still would stick to it. Let me tell you something, brother, there is a 
woman buried here, she lived in the 2nd or 3rd century a.D., her name is 
Afra...I believe with all my heart that she was baptized in Jesus name 
filled with the Holy Ghost. She was burned at the stake cause she wasn't 
going to recant. :) Now she is burried in a Catholic church (of course, 
there is nothing else, they even elevated her to "sainthood" as if she 
wasn't one before she died) but I believe when we are in heaven with Jesus, 
she'll be there. There is also the ruin of an old church here, next to the 
main cathedral which was build on top of a Roman house...it is especially 
interesting, cause as you go down to enter the church you must go by the 
baptismal pool...and I really really believe that they baptized people in 
Jesus name in there, then you go on to the altar to receive the Holy Ghost 
and after that, there is space behind that altar, where there is room for 
the whole church to sit, so now you are part of the church...in light of all 
that historical evidence....can I do anything less than stick to my guns, 
hold my banner high and hope and pray that people in my city will turn away 
from Catholicism and Lutheranism and turn to the truth. I feel the spirits 
that sourround us, people have come to this city and they say...we can feel 
the spirits, the demons that hold this city captive, should I not spit into 
the face of those demons and say I stand my ground in Jesus name. It breaks 
my heart to see people go away from truth, turning their backs and embrace 
half-truths, when there is so much darkness here, so much tradition, 
unbelieve and so many stumbling blocks that can get you so frustrated, that 
you want to throw it all and say what's the use...but then God says...hey, I 
have 7000 prophets here, and you go on. :) To me, I personally can't 
understand how someone who has a truth-preaching church on every corner, or 
at least one very close, settles for less....it breaks my heart you know. 
Anyway, I think I should quit while I'm ahead...I can really work myself up 
into a hype about it...cause of there is so much spiritual need here and so 
much there that people don't even know what to do with it.
