Sister Bonita,
I wish to preface this post by stating up front that I know of the grief
you are enduring.  Two years ago my father asked my mother to go to Virginia
with him.  They were supposed to be going to pick up some money my father
had supposedly hidden from her (they were separated).  While my mom was
dialing the phone to talk to my sister, my dad shot her in the back of the
head, killing her instantly.  He then, having seen that she didn't suffer,
for he was a great coward, did the same to himself.

Please believe that I would never submit you to this is I didn't believe
that it was of the utmost importance.

SisBonita:
As one that was blind and was healed at age 16 by God as a result of
the faithful prayer warriors in Church I know God does heal today just
like in the Bible days.

Me:
Here is the first element I was trying to *pull* out, first hand testimony.

Also, let me say for the record that God has healed people at my own hand
and at my own (the Words HE *Gave* me ;-) words.  You don't have any
convincing to do in that area.  ;-)

Sis:
One can argue scripture and interpretation all you want but cold hard
facts can not be denied.

Me:
Amen.  However, much misinterpretation and "well intentioned" exaggeration
and outright fraud exists these days when it comes to the reporting of
miracles.

1 Thessalonians 5
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Sis:
I walked to the altar blind.
They laid hands on me anointing me with oil and prayed.
I felt cool refreshing water inside of me from the top of my head to
the tips of my toes.
I turned and my eyes straightened up and I actually saw the
congregation.

I went to the doctor the next day and He verified that I had 20/20
vision in both eyes.  I had never had that in my life.

Ummm...  First:  ***HALLELUJAH!  GLORY UNTO THE ONLY WISE GOD!!!***

<settling down a bit>  ;-)

Second, this brings out the second thing I wanted to *pull* out of your
testimony.  Am I right that you had *partial* vision?  I mean, could you see
for instance the difference between light and dark or did you have the same
vision as a stone?


Sis:
So never doubt what God can do.

Me:
I NEVER do.  ;->  I have seen things that I can't tell anyone else about
simply because they would NEVER believe me.  God has moved in ways that are
on a less *showy* fashion in my public ministry, but they are no less
miraculous than if someone without eyes came to me and walked away thought
the Power of God ALONE with seeing eyes.  And yet, the Word cannot be
broken.  ;-)

Having said that however, *I* have, on occasion, been terribly wrong in *my*
interpretation of just what the Word means.  When faced with evidence that
my interpretation is terribly wrong, I have two choices:  Deny the evidence
or crucify my *pride* and let God be right at ALL cost.

I have in this case, and by the Glory of God in every case *so far*, chosen
the later...  ;-)

Romans 3
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when
thou art judged.

I personally intend to do both...

I believe and have seen first hand that God perfects the sight of those who
have even the worst vision (Bro. Brown's daughter on this very list ;-).  I
have NEVER seen or even heard *credible* evidence that He has, other than
the instances I mentioned in the Christ; Jesus, alone, Given sight to the
BLIND.  By blind, I mean those WITHOUT sight.  If this is the first instance
of such, God will still have to restructure my mind for indeed, I see a very
Powerful reason for Him to reserve this to Jesus alone.  I have faith that
He can and will, should that be the case.  :-D

I also wish to add a hearty AMEN BRUTHA! to Bro. Tyler's post.  God revealed
the same Truth to me long ago.  Consider for a moment that not all that were
healed of their physical afflictions entered into the Kingdom of Heaven...

John 16
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart,
I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

TO THE LIST:
Ummm...  I wrote this before I had read the post by Sis. Bonita about having
partial sight.  I have decided to leave it unaltered for indeed, this is a
most Powerful way to make the point.  The importance of this is that ONLY
Jesus was prophesied to open blind eyes.  It was a miracle *reserved* to
confirm Him as Christ.  The Jews understood and fully believed this.

The greater thing that we do today is to, through the foolishness of
preaching, open the blinded spiritual eyes of the world.
