God Moves

SisSheri:
I am very sorry if I have offended you. I promise that was not my
intention.

Me:
No offense taken. ;-) It is just that after an outpouring of God's Spirit,
we, as the incurable optimist we are, tend to interpret it as a *blanket*
approval of the whole circumstance by God Himself. I know it was not your
intention to offend. Please believe me when I say it was never my intention
either. ;-) I was moved to remind you and others who read these that we
are in a war here and that we have greater responsibilities to those who are
ignorant of the Moves of God than to *just* rejoice with them.

1 Corinthians 14
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Without the effort to save them as our constant and first priority, we are
lulled into apathy and the love that would press us on to speak the Truth in
Love waxes slowly until the Flame goes out. By save them, I mean the *life
long* commitment offered a brother or sister who has first repented, been
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and been Given the Gift of the Holy
Ghost which is the tongue of intercession.

Sis:
It was just so beautiful to me to see these people affected and touched.

Me:
I know! It is Wonderful, isn't it! I just wanted to encourage you to look
a bit deeper than the appearant joy.

You see, in my mother's church there was much outpouring of the Spirit.
There was no saving of lives for they never taught the Truth. We all know
that God Gives His Spirit to those who in the end reject Him unto death.
The distribution of His Gifts is not contingent upon the eventual salvation
of those receiving the Gifts...

To conclude my point, consider the following verse.

Isaiah 53
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with
grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we
esteemed him not.

Why are we all so willing to share the joy experiences with one another and
we are so loath to share how we have overcome the sorrows in Christ? Who
needs training and encouragement to withstand joy? ;-)

I am certainly not trying to say that you shouldn't share your joyful
experiences with brothers and sisters. It is just that in this case, there
was to me, a greater need that had to be addressed.

Sis:
I do understand what you are saying.

Me:
In this I truly rejoice.

Sis:
I was just so excited to see God move in this place.

Me:
In the venacular: You aint seen nothin' yet. ;-)

Sis:
I first came into Pentecost in Louisiana so I had been exposed to it before
I went to church for the 1st time thru some people I knew. We are so open in
our worship and praise. Alot of people have never experienced that.

Me:
I am very aware of that. That of course increases our responsibility to
insure, as best we can, that they are only first attracted by this Liberty
in Christ, but that they then *stay* because of the Life Giving Word of God
ALONE. The only way we can insure this is to show them the love that God
has shown us in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have a strong feeling that this is not a problem for you. ;-)

Luke 7
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for
she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Sis:
I will not belabor the point anymore.

Me:
It wasn't my intent to "rain on your parade", but to forewarn of the dark
clouds in the distance...

Sis:
Thank you for your replies and again, if I have offended in any way, please
know that I never meant to.

Me:
Your grace in a trying experience has indeed been quite encouraging to me.
How can one be offended in that?

You and I:
(May) God (continue to) Bless you.
