Brother Tim;

Historians are not sure if Luke was a Greek, or a Hellenistic Jew. There is one fact that they all agree on, that Luke came after Jesus had ascended. To put in order all that had transpired. Of the 4 gospels, his is the one that was written from first hand accounts, and records of his life. Luke by far, is the only that did try to get the order of actions. We know that John Mark's boot was written based on the telling of Peter, there are some that thing John Mark also talked to others, though they all agree that Peter was the main source of the information. It is thought that Mark wrote his book after returning from the Journey with Paul, and the his book could have been the reason that Paul choose him again later on in his ministry. Though that is just a contention, and there is nothing to say its true or not.

when reading the Book of Acts, when start out as a history, and then at about mid way or a little before or after, we begin seeing that Luke starts to write as though he was there. That does not cheapen the books, or say that God was not there. We need to becareful what we state as fact.

We know that Johns was written last, and that possibly at the end of his life. We also know that Marks was written first. There is this naggin feeling that Matthew's book was original in Hebrew and then translated to Greek, though there no proof of that. Except that Matthew wrote to the Jews about their King. One that they had hung on a cross.

It seems that we might need some history here..... I have always wondered about Luke. He was possibly the most worldly learned among all the disciples, with the exception of Matthew. Yet is written in a way that seem to inspire the most, or maybe Johns then Lukes. When talking history, we need to remember that all that we have are some old books, the Holy Ghost, and 2000 years.
