First, let me commend you on your sense of control. I know as a moderator
who has in the past STRESSED the importance of sticking to issues and
showing Christian kindness and love to even those you disagree with just how
important it is for you to have such an outward display of such attributes
yourself. How refreshing it is that you do not resort to "ad-hominin"
arguments yourself when you are backed into a corner and someone has the
machete poised above the head of one of your sacred cows. Nothing short of
inspiring...

I can certainly see why you are in this position of leadership!

<If that stings Dude: GOOD! It should>

Leaders must put aside their own interest for the common good of the flock.
Say you have done this and I will recant the above statement. Either set
the standard or step down, there is no dishonor in either...

Now, use history or logic or even the *bible* or whatever suits you the best
but please do just one thing: PROVE BEYOND ANY DOUBT THAT LUKE DID
***NOT*** WALK SIDE BY SIDE WITH JESUS.

If you intend to *properly* rebuke me, that is the only issue. ;-)

That *personal* issue aside, are we agreed that Luke lived and wrote both
Luke and Acts in the same time that at least the Apostles were alive? If
so, are we also agreed that since he wrote these to a Greek that he wrote
them in Greek? Now, if we are still agreed, then is the conclusion that
having written these (or this single ;-) work/works in Greek that *HE*
didn't have the first problem translating the name of the man born to Mary,
*Mara* if you want to be technical, into his own language?

This is what concerns me. I don't CARE about history. I ONLY care that
there are sincere Oneness followers that are truly confused on this issue.
I only want to lay their minds at ease. It seems these days that you can't
just come out and say that God shows you things. I HAVE to use reason until
God shows those whom He gives the eyes and the ears to see and hear...

I really don't care if I have made a mistake. I have made them before and I
know that I will make them again. However, there is a LOT at stake here...

To that end my confidence is not in myself or my abilities but in the
Gifting and Calling of God. I'm not a bit above being made a public
spectacle so that He can make His point. Let's just not let a small side
issue pull us from the more important issue that might cost *lives*...

For indeed, what faith can be had without the confidence in the name above
every name?

1 Corinthians 14
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Your friend (whether you like it or not ;-) Tim
