Funny things happen to us, on our way to truth.

Approximately, forty years ago, an extremely religious, educated, meek, and
well meaning individual gave a bit of spiritual advise. She was a local
minister's wife, and taught school where I attended. She, at several time,
shared the love of Christ, and even discussed my pending salvation. I had
visited several churches in the area, and even attended one, quite often. I
am sorry to say they really didn't enthuse me, that much.

Later, through a long line of peculiar happenings, (now I know that it was
God) I visited a local Pentecostal church.!!! Well needless to say, I was
enthused!!! God as there, it was so different. I went away, knowing that
was the church that I would be a part of.

I was so thrilled about what I had seen, heard, and felt, that I couldn't
wait to get to school an tell my religious mentor. She taught me English,
and that class was later on in the day. I couldn't wait. I found her on an
early break, and told her of my religious encounter. I told her that was
where the truth of God was, and that most definitely, would be the church, I
would "join". Excited, I eagerly awaited a response. There was a dead
silence. She sighed, and slowly began to speak. Robert, I want you to be
saved. However, ah, ah, ah, if you get MESSED up with the Pentecostals, you
will never be able to get away from them!!!!! That was all she said, as
she walked away to the classroom. Her reaction amazed me, but it didn't
discourage me

Hallelujah, several months later, the Lord baptized me with the Holy Ghost,
and I was baptized in Jesus Name. Since I got "Messed up", I have
continually have been "Blessed up." There have been disappointment,
disillusions, and even sorrow. Even then, faith in God, and the joy He
gives, makes me have a greater love for Him, with an assurance of eternal
life.

Looking back, as my mentor and friend, spoke loud and clear, "not to get
Messed up," the Spirit of God spoke soft and sweet, you will be "Blessed."

Thank God for the Apostolic Faith.
