I've tried to stay out of this, but this is silly compromise, "can't we
just get along?" reasoning. I want to ask you a question Dave; What do
you believe are the pre-requisites for getting to heaven? Don't beat
around the bush, answer honestly, and concisely.

> Dave asks:
> Can you apply this same reasoning to yourself as well? You may be "good"
> in your eyes, but what about in God's? Aren't we supposed to show mercy?
> If we don't show mercy, didn't the Bible say we would not be shown
> mercy?

God has mercy, but there will STILL be those who *refuse* his mercy and
go to hell anyway.

> Luke 6:37
> 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall

Dave,
The word of God is the *judge*. If we quote the Bible, are you saying
that's wrong? Sorry, your "touchy feely" theology is off base.

> Dave responds:
> The Gospel is "Good news" not "bad news", i.e., "they are going to

 Dave,
Jesus called the religious leaders snakes and vipers. He called them
hypocrites. They claimed to believe in God, but crucified the Messiah.
Jesus and the apostles are the examples we have to pattern our lives
after. If you know the truth and do not share that knowledge with those
who do not; you are not only a partaker of their deeds, but, their blood
is on your hands.
You try to equate what is said here on this forum (supposedly among
apostolics) with the approach taken with those who believe differently.
That is a mistake! *WE* (apostolics)are supposed to know better. *WE*
have "bought the truth, and sold it not". *WE* speak the truth in love.
*WE* in meekness, instruct those who oppose themselves. It really
concerns me when I hear you berating those who stand, uncompromisingly
for God's plan of salvation. If we can not express this truth in a forum
such as Higher Fire without a repremand, something's out of place.
Showing mercy, and refraining from judgement (which you are doing in
each post) does not mean to compromise the truth. Except a man be born
of water AND of the spirit he can NOT enter the Kingdom of God (John
3:5). There's your judgement. We, (you included) will be judged by how
we line up with the word of God, and whether or not our names are
written in the Lamb's Book of Life. It is Love, mercy, compassion, mixed
with a fear of God that compels us to tell Muslims, Budists, AND
trinitarians, that there is only one (1) way to enter God's kingdom;
through the Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-16, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-5
experience.
I ask again; What do YOU believe it takes to get to heaven?
