This was something I found in the Apostolic Standard, Nov. 1994
published by the Apostolic Churches, Inc (ACI).

I decided to send it in two parts since it is a long article, But it
is something I think everyone will enjoy reading. BP.

Unity's Foe.

Author unknown.

Time and time again we have heard the timeless, asinine, and thread
bare phrase, "If only everyone would get together," the result of
this 'unity' would "put the devil on the run, and there would be real
revival!"-we are told. The whole ecumenical movement is based on
such a conclusion.

You must admit the thought sounds inviting-to have everyone in love
and fellowship with each other- now that would really be something
wouldn't it! But don't hold breath -IT CAN'T HAPPEN. There will
always be a couple of real Christians around to throw a monkeywrench
in to the works. "What?!" you say, " How could real Christians spoil
it?" Because Real Christians love Truth, so much so, that they
become quite stubborn and ornery at times-the way they stick to the
truth.

Some people have the craziest ideas! They want to try and do what
only God can do. They think that if they can just get everyone to
quit arguing about their different doctrinal belies, then unity is
just around the corner. "Let's all just try and fellowship and talk
about those things in the bible that we all agree on, and we will
dismiss all the rest that we can't agree on."
