We had a weekly Bible study/devotional group in an adolescent psychiatric
unit for some time, and it was very, very effective. There are also some
great opportunities in the area of Grief Recovery ministry. Bro. Ron
Becton's church is doing some fantastic work on this in Nashville TN.

I have had a desire for some to to address the need for support groups to
offer alternatives to AA and other secular or pseudo-religious programs. I
think a weekly support group with a brief Bible study, time of devotion,
sharing and prayer would be great for a variety of needs including
        depression
        addictions
        abuse
        grief

After working in administration in a psychiatric program for some 5 years, I
know without a question that there is no successful recovery without
genuinely addressing the Spiritual element. That is why it is imperative
that we, the Church, get involved in ministering to these needs from a
foundation of Spirit and Truth.
