Something that troubles me a great deal is the disunity of Oneness believers.
I have read a great deal of Pentecostal History and understand the former
factors that resulted in so many splinter organisation (first spinning off
from the AOG and later breaking into racially distinct organisations).

In this modern day of racial tolerance and increasing (though imperfect)
civil rights, what prevents a greater unity between Oneness believers.
And of course, we must also consider the smaller Oneness organisations
(ie. Apostolic Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, Fire-Baptised Church of
the Apostolic Faith, etc.).

We believe the same great doctrines of Acts 2.38 Salvation and the mighty
God in Christ and varying degrees of holiness. Could we not be strengthened
in evangelism through a greater concentration of effort and fellowship? We
are all admitted to the body of Christ through the one Lord, one faith and
one Baptism.

I am not calling for a surrender of the sovereignty and polity of every
Oneness organisation to the UPC, but I would like to see Oneness Conferences,
Convocations--services and meetings dedicated to unity of people of like-
precious faith and our mission to spread this great Gospel.

I know the UPC adopted at the 1975 General Conference a motion concerning
the unity of Oneness believers which purports to foster greater unity
of Apostolic Pentecostals everywhere, but I must say that I have not
really seen the degree of integration inferred by this assumed position.

I am interested in any opinions, but especially those on this list who do
not attend UPC churches.

All Honour to Christ Jesus,
