I have used Linux for a year and a half.  I get better quality
applications than I ever did for DOS, and I ftp them for free.  If I
need support, there are newsgroups and mailing lists with many
knowledgable people on them.  I have justified using Gnu tools in
professional situations because bugs get fixed much faster.
