Ok, I'm an administrator for the UWSP Health Service here on my campus, and
I just have to make a few comments about this.
I used AT&T UNIX for 3 years, then switched to Windows NT.
First of all UNIX is not good. ;-)
I am very thankful that 2 years ago I convinced my boss to leave UNIX, and
go to Windows NT. We have the best security of anyone on our campus, and
it is much better than any of the UNIX boxes could ever achieve.
Working at a university we are able to get Windows NT for $53 and that
includes upgrades for the next 3 years. (site license) We, being a
medical service, have a need to be as secure as possible. So NT is the
best choice. We can do file permissions, much easier and better then is
possible with UNIX. NT has run much more reliably then UNIX did.
Oh well, that is enough of my UNIX bashing for now. ;-)
Flame away,
