Chris,

This is in reference to your message about the UPC versus ALJC.  I 
currently attend an ALJC church in Bloomington, IN.  Holiness doesn't 
come with what church you attend, it depends on what you have in your 
heart.  Holiness works from the inside out.  I personally do not wear 
clear fingernail polish, face powder, or anything of that sort -- but 
you can rest assured that the ALJC church I attend believes in 
holiness.  Our pastor preaches it from the pulpit -- and even if it 
were a UPC church the pastor can preach it until he is blue in the 
face, but if the person doesn't want to receive it it will fall on 
stony ground and not take root.

I attended a UPC church for the first 29 years of my life.  I can 
honestly say that I have gotten strictor with my holiness standards, 
and it neither contributes to the fact that I go to an ALJC or a UPC 
church.  It is what is in my heart, and it is showing on the outside.

I don't have anything against the UPC church.  As a matter of fact, 
we're leaving on the 22 of this month to attend the UPCI conference 
in San Antonio.  We're really excited.  ALJC and UPC are just the 
names over the door.  It all boils down to what is in your heart.
