Yes, but not as well as I did Howard Goss. Bro. Kidson spent more time at
Headquarters-- Bro Goss spent more time on the road-- at District
Conferences, Board Meetings, Etc..

There was a difference in the make-up of the two men. Bro. Kidson was more
rigid than Bro. Goss was-- so much so that it caused friction sometimes among
the ministers in some sections of the country. Bro. Goss was much more
diplomatic, realizing that there would have to be a common ground in order to
build a lasting organization. But there was quite a bit of difficulty with
the ministers of the Southern District-- the deep South. At one time the
District was richer than all the rest of the nation put together-- or so we
were told. It amounted to *the tail wagging the dog* at times. Bro. Goss
managed to keep things under control, and the National movement on a more
moderate course.

It is true that the old PA of JC was stronger on the *New Birth*, as it was
called in those days, than those of the PCI. For a time in 1945 we wondered
if we were going to be able to accomplish a merger between the two groups.
There was a bit of *flaming* took place in our Convention in Montesano by
one PA of JC man in particular. He took *deadly aim* at one former PCI man
who was nominated for the district board.

I had a former PA of JC man in my home church for a while, and I learned from
him how most of them believed. I called it *Rural Religion*-- "We 'uns is
all there'll be in Heaven". Meaning ONLY those who have spoken in tongues
and been baptized in Jesus Name will see the Pearly Gates.

MAYBE, they will be the only OVERCOMERS. They are a *breed apart*, according
to the seven promises of Revelation, and are in line for a special work.
But, I cannot, personally, limit Heaven to just those comparatively few
believers.

There were times-- in the later 40's when ministers from BOTH former groups
wondered if we were going to succeed with the merger. But God be thanked, it
WAS a success, though it appears that the *New Birth* teaching has become
more dominant-- especially in the East and deep South.

But still *We be brethren*. We are learning to get along in spite of our
differences.

I might add-- There has ALWAYS been a group of people, somewhere, who have
baptized in the Name of Jesus, since the Day of Pentecost. And it has ALWAYS
been a bone of contention in the body of Christ. But I still cherish it.

Thank you for your inquiry. I enjoy reminiscing a bit.
