Greetings everyone!
I visited Bro Mooney at Calvary tonight and he really preached
a burdened message. You could see it in his actions and in his words
when he spoke. He was preaching about the one thing that we must
have beyond the grace and mercy, etc. We must have a desire.
He talked about the world and its desires for entertainment. You see
people will stand in lines for hours just to buy tickets for a show,
concert,
etc. and spend hundreds of dollars for tickets to some sporting event.
People cheer louder for the Indianapolis Colts(which beat Dallas today ;)
)
than they will for God. Some are just getting more excited and more
commited to wordly things than God. He used I Kings 2:4 for his sermon.
It says that if thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in
truth
with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail
thee(said he)
a man on the throne of Israel. How much of our hearts and soul are we
giving over to God when we get more excited about some show, some
football team, some song, than we do about just getting into God's
presence?
You had to be there for the message to really sink in. I knew there was
a reason I visited tonight. Boy did his message hit home for me.
God Bless,
Chris Sterrett
