I have brought facts before you, not lies and the moral laws of men. I
understand that people have there own self- convictions
I do not consider myself to be judging others
>or self-righteous when I show others what has been shown to me.

You say you have brought facts but have you checked into the
history? I think the "fact" that the pagen holiday and the christian
celebration may still be confusing you a bit. This is the 3rd time I've
posted this and I'm still wondering if you have seen it.?? I am not
trying to justify anything. I too have many "convictions" about
holidays. I'll just tell you out-right, I haven't had a christmas tree
in years because of a scripture in Jeremiah (I believe). I don't expect
everyone else to do the same. If God shows them (or their pastor) then
yes, they should submit.

>women consider wearing pants the norm, even Christian women, and even
>if you told them its may not be Gods will that they wear pants, they
>might consider you to be judging them and being self-righteous

I don't believe it is my place to tell them. (Oh my, what did I
say? Now the whole world of UPC is going to post to HF tee-hee!) I
believe it is my place to tell them the plan of salvation but I leave
the pastoring to the pastor. If a person does something because they're
told to, and not because it's in their hear to do it, then they're
doing it for the wrong reason anyway. If they do it because it is in
their heart to do right, "that is the right reason". People respond to
love very well. When a thing is pushed on them, they tend to resent it.
It's wonderful when God speaks to a heart and they respond!
I do believe that convictions are good regarding the easter bunny
or santa or elves, but when we celebrate "Jesus" and "His birth,
death, and resurrection", we celebrate a great thing and I "do" believe
the Lord is "pleased" with that.
I do apologize if I have come on a little strong but I do feel
strongly about this one. I've been made to feel guilty by others when
if it was wrong it should have been a check of the holyghost. It was
good for me though since it caused me to study the issue. That is why
Higher-Fire is good, it causes us to study out some things that we may
not agree on.
    God bless you all!!!
