It is not the TV that is the sin or even the watching of it. What do you
watch when you watch it? Is it pure and holy? Is it helpful in living
for God or does it fill your mind with lust and pictures of sinful acts?
God has given the Pastor the commandment to watch over the flock. If a
shepherd saw a wolf roaming around the edges of the herd and realized
that it was about to take their life, would he not warn them and move
them away from it or destroy the wolf? How much more does God expect
His Pastors to move the family of God away from perverse and detrimental
programming that will pull them down and away from His Word? How much
time is wasted on TV that could be spent winning souls?
Maybe it is not sin because you do it when your Pastor preaches against
it? But to know what is right and not do it is sin.
