As saints, we are supposed to obey all the laws of Man (including the speed limit...oops!), and
every ordinance and commandmant set forth in the scriptures.
If a pastor say's it's ok to use cocaine, then he's wrong. Of course, that's a legal issue
anyway, so of course we know that's wrong. Or if the pastor say's it's ok to not pay taxes
because we are under God's law...well, I'll visit you in jail...we are to obey every law set
forth by the state and the Word of God.
What I was saying that for a pastor to make a rule based solely on his opinion is also wrong.
Certain pastor's don't like people wearing red because of what it used to stand for, but does
that make it a sin? No, it's his/her opinion. A certain pastor says not to each chocolate...does
that make chocolate a sin? Of course not...that would be ridiculous! My point is, how far are
pastors allowed to go in making their personal opinion part of the doctrine, thereby making many
people transgressors? Because while the chocolate bar is not a sin, the disobedience definitely
borders on being a sin.
Are we just to obey the pastor whatever rule or ordinance he/she sets forth that's not based on
the Bible? To me, that is going in the direction of a cult, and not a Bible-believing church.
