Dear Sis. Doris,
Please see my response below. =)

[Sis. Doris responded:]
>Dear Bro. Kirk,
I don't see it as such a hassle. I have seen some of the most beautiful
hair-does done with hair that wasn't cut. There is so much that you can do
with hair that is uncut from a bun to wearing it in long waves and it all
looks neat and nice. Not cutting your hair does not necessarily mean that
you hair is one untangled mess, on the contrary women with uncut hair tend
to make more of a fuss about her hair, such as conditioning, fixing it etc.
just to make it look nice. Doris

[I (Kirk) embarrassingly clarify:]
Oh, Sis Doris--I hope that you did not get the impression that I think women
with uncut hair look messy. Nothing could be further from the truth. My wife
has long, uncut hair that goes beyond her waistline when it is down and she is
the most beautiful woman in the world. =) My comment about uncut hair being a
"daily hassle" perhaps didn't come out right. I was simply trying to say that
having uncut hair (which usually results in having extremely long hair) can be
time consuming to care for. In this respect, some could construe it as a
"hassle" as opposed to having a "fashionable" maintainence-free haircut. I hope
that I haven't offended you or any of the other sisters on the list because I
was sincerely trying to commend all the good sisters that keep God's word by
NOT cutting their hair. I agree with you that uncut hair doesn't equate to
being messy or unattractive. Quite the contrary, (and forgive me for sounding
a bit carnal) Pentecostal women are the most beautiful, attractive women in
the world. Can I get an "amen," brothers? =)
BTW, I am impressed that you don't see your long hair as being a "hassle." I
wish you could convince my wife of this. I have seen her almost loose her
salvation on many occasions about an hour before church starts. :-0 (Get your
hands off of those "reply" keys...IT'S A JOKE!!) =) Seriously though, things
can get a little unpleasant when "we" are having a "bad hair day."
Yours in Christ Jesus,
Bro. Kirk
