Oops! I meant to ask if anyone knows the origin of this story. I didn't
write it, as my signature at the bottom may imply. Anyone know where this
came from?

>
> There once were two terminally ill men who shared a hospital room. One
> gentleman, Bill, occupied the bed closest to the only window in the room,
> and was able to gaze out of it all day. The other man, Bob, was bedridden
> on the other side of the room, and so was unable to see what lay beyond
the
> window.
>
> Bob commented one day about how he never got to see out of the window, so
> Bill offered to describe what he saw. Day after day, Bill would paint
vivid
> pictures of children playing in the park, couples sitting close to one
> another on the bench, the leaves turning beautiful shades of autumn, the
> sun playing off the water fountain, and many other wonderful scenes of
> life.
>
> The sad day came when Bill passed away. After a time of mourning, Bob
> requested that he be moved to Bill's bed, closer to the window. Maybe, he
> thought, he would see Bill in his mind's eye a little clearer if he could
> gaze at all the things his friend had described to him.
>
> When morning came with the sunrise, Bob awoke and eagerly sat up and
looked
> out the window. Then he began to cry as he realized how much his beloved
> friend had cared about his happiness, for the only thing he could see was
a
> brick wall.
