I don't mean to interrupt this discussion, but as a
woman (with extremely unruly long hair of biracial origin),
I feel it is important to voice my particular opinion of
this subject.

Often I've toyed with the idea of trimming my split ends--
and believe me, there are plenty<g>, but when I do, these
thoughts seem to occur at the time when I am trying to
style it.

I know this doesn't seem like much, but let me continue.
Where do we style our hair? In front of a mirror!!

When I have these thoughts, I'm often wishing my hair were
easier to style in the latest fashion. I know that my
hair would hold curl easier without split ends. It might
just behave better in inclement weather. It might just
MAKE ME LOOK BETTER. Wishing you could alter your person
in any manner for the purpose of improving upon your God-
given looks--be it with make-up, jewelry, or whatever is
simply vanity.

When you sit in front of a mirror wishing you looked like
so-and-so, you are coveting that which God did not see fit
to give you. You are trying to be something you are not.

That's all I have to say<g>
