"Robert J. Brown" spake thusly in a message to steve winter:

"JB> I see now by close examination of your signature that you
"JB> are in Durham North Carolina USA, home of Duke University.
"JB> It is interesting to note that the USENET news system was
"JB> invented at Duke in the late 1970s. As such, it should be
"JB> no trouble for you to get internet access (indeed, you
"JB> *MUST* have it now in order to read this message!). Why
"JB> don't you set up your BBS as a gateway so that BBS postings
"JB> would be echoed to a newsgroup, say alt.bbs.psychotronic or
"JB> something similar. The use of alt groups eliminates the
"JB> need to go through with a RFV before the newsgroup can be
"JB> created. If the traffic is substantial over time, you might
"JB> consider moving it then to soc.religion.whatever instead. I
"JB> hate to pay long distance bills when I already have a
"JB> dedicated line to the internet :)

In due season that may become a reality. The more likely scenario would be
a Telnet address for PreRapture BBS. The PRIME network carrys quite a few
conferences. There are more than a few considerations with creating an
alt newsgroup much less 30 or so of them. Here is a list of the PRIME
echos.
