I am interested in home schoolong and I live in the
>upper peninsula of Michigan. A discussion of home schooling
>has been going around on the list just prior to the time that
>you joined brother. My daughter is almost 4 and ready to be
>taught. I really don't want my children in a public school
>because of the things that they have to be taught and put up
>with in their education.
>
> I also see the spiritual difference in kids that are
>home-schooled and the ones that aren't. If you have more
>details on this matter, could you bring it to the list for
>us and further both our knowledge and understanding of some
>of the heartaches and joys of home-schooling.

Boy where to begin .... maybe the best way would be to post
a FAQ that comes from many messages of others on the
homeschooling list on the internet ... it would at least
get you an overall understanding of the homeschooling
movement ... of course there are many that do home school
not for spiritual reasons but because the public system
and in many cases the private system have become such a pit
of sinful instruction and humanistic agenda.

We have been home-educating (I prefer that term as
homeschooling seems to signify that you are doing what the
schools do but you do it at home instead) for over 5 years
now. For the last four we had been using the ACE
curriculum exclusively but this year we have incorporated
what is termed 'delight-directed' study along with ACE
curriculum. It is certainly a new endeavor and we are
seeking the Lord's direction in it.

Let me post the homeschool faq (if I still have it) and we
can go from there.
