This is what I've been trying to do -- we keep talking about how we
should love one another and treat one another with respect, but it's
hardly a tactic we've been using on Steve.

My proposal: that we just coddle him in love ourselves -- to practice
what we preach, in other words. I realize this is very difficult to
do on a person with Steve's character. If he says something offensive,
ignore it. If he indicates in his rather unique style that there is
something that offends him (i.e. "You are a liar and a whore") you
might even go so far as to offer apology or ask forgiveness.

If this is something you will not or cannot do with a good conscience,
then of course you don't have to feel obligated. I will repeat the
advice a couple of people have given though -- that what Steve wants
most is attention. If he is ignored, he will go away. Some of the
anti-Steve rebuttals I've seen have been nearly as bad as the posts
>from Steve.

You do *not* have to have the last say -- *EVERYBODY* on this list
pretty much knows what Winter is about.

Steve *has* been trying to send numerous posts to the list that are
less than edifying :-( Believe me, they are not fun to read. He has
rebuked me and called me liar numerous times for censoring him. He
hasn't cursed me yet in the name of the Lord or harassed my wife on the
phone, which I'm told is the next step I can expect. I do not and will
not respond in like manner to Steve.

If I allow a "Winter" message to the list that seems questionable to
you, it's probably because I've become a little jaded to his language;
I ask for some understanding in this matter. I have stopped allowing
Steve's posts to make it to the list, but this will also *not* become
an "anti-Steve" list.

Also, apologies to our many newcomers who are stepping right in the
middle of this mess. Please fell free to post something that is
edifying to the saints of this list! :-)

There are "twit" filters available for both unix mail systems and many
DOS/Windows based software. The simplest "twit" filter, of course, is
hitting the delete key when you see his name on the "From" line.

The list moderation, BTW, is *not* working for some reason; I don't
know what happened, but I'll check into it.
